It's not just a tower. There is a special meaning and history about this tower. I couldn't visit inside it. But i passed by tower on sightseeing bus and took pictures
This historic landmark reflects the Cuban immigration influence of Miami. This was the location where immigrants were processed and welcomed into the United States.
The Miami Freedom Tower is considered the Ellis Island of the south. It is where where Cuban refugees were processed and helped after fleeing communism and oppression in Cuba in the 1960s.
Completed in 1924 and once home to the long-gone Miami News; during the 1960s offices at the Miami Freedom Tower processed requests for political asylum during the first wave of Cuban immigration.
