The view over the city is better than on top of Hallgrimskirkja. Take the lift to the 4th floor for the terrace (10am-10pm summer). Revolving restaurant is higher (5th floor) and is worth at sunset.

There's a path up the side you can walk to from downtown; it's a 20min hike from Hallgrimskirkja. View from the top is worth it.

Amazing food and view. Try the 4 course meal. You can't go wrong with the catch of the day.

Doesn't cost anything to go up onto the viewing gallery and enjoy probably the best view of the city.

Perlan - The Pearl • Not only a restaurant. Close to the Bus Hostel, nice view point. No need to go out the city to catch the northern lights!
