The park allows a limited number of photography workshops hire monitors, to enter the town after hours, including building interior access. Search for "Bodie photography workshops" for more info.
It can be pretty chilly in the fall. Just be prepared for hot or cold weather. Bring water and snacks. There is a fee to get in - I want to say $7ish for each person. Photos come out great!

The last 6 miles are a dusty road in the middle of nowhere. The buildings still have furniture from when it was deserted after the gold rush ended. Cost is $8 per person and they accept cash only.
