Diocletian's Palace is a must see in Split. There are a lot of shops and cool cafes. People live within the palace grounds so be careful when your roam around not to end up in someone's backyard ;)
Inside de area of the palace's full of charm, coffees and restaurants! I loved too much because of the history. The Croatians are very happy and peacefull.
